New Ways to Save: Schnucks Launches New Value Programs in Time to Lower Holiday Costs
On October 29, Schnucks celebrated the third round of the grocer’s "New Lower Price" initiative, officially bringing the total number of reduced items to more than 3,000 across all stores in 2025. These permanent price reductions ensure that essential items – from daily staples like bread and chicken wings to household needs like toilet paper – are priced extremely competitively every day. Shoppers can easily identify these savings by looking for the distinct "Great Low Price" and "New Lower Price" on electronic shelf tags throughout the store.
Schnucks also announced the launch of a new Boosts feature within the Schnucks Rewards app. These time-sensitive, app-only offers significantly amplify members’ ability to save, building upon Schnucks Rewards’ everyday two percent cash back, hundreds of digital coupons and personalized offers on the items purchased most. The Boosts are characterized by the ability to earn notably higher Schnucks Rewards by spending in a specific department in a finite amount of time. Boosts available now through November 21 have the potential to be worth $50 in extra rewards. Examples include earning $15 in rewards by spending $70 in produce, earning $10 in rewards by spending $60 in the deli, and earning $5 in rewards by spending $30 in the bakery department. The full set of Boost offers are available in the Schnucks Rewards app under the "Savings" tab.
Holiday Know-How: Essential Thanksgiving Day Hacks
The Schnucks’ chefs have assembled a handful of practical turkey tips to help holiday hosts sit down to their best Thanksgiving meal ever.
- Estimate one and a half pounds of uncooked turkey per person; this should give you enough for dinner and leftovers the next day.
- Place your frozen turkey, still sealed in its packaging, in a shallow pan on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator. Allow 24 hours of thawing for every four to five pounds. You can keep a thawed turkey in the refrigerator for up to two days.
- Start preparing your turkey about an hour before roasting. This takes the chill off your bird and may reduce roasting time.
- Allow about 15 to 18 minutes roasting time per pound, or three to three and a half hours for a 12- to 14-pound turkey, ensuring the final internal temperature in the breast and thigh reaches 165°F. (Residual heat will continue to cook the turkey while it stands, so you may want to take your turkey out when it reaches 160°F.)
- Let the turkey stand at room temperature for 20 minutes before carving.
Turkey is the centerpiece on most Thanksgiving dinner tables, but it takes some planning ahead and know-how to ensure a delicious turkey. For additional turkey tips, video tutorials and recipes, visit How to Cook a Turkey at schnucks.com.
For those looking to have Schnucks do the work for them, the grocer is also offering fully-cooked turkey dinners with traditional sides (feeds six to eight) starting at $64.99.
