Eighth Annual Schnucks Folds of Honor "Round Up at the Register" Campaign Raises $150,000

Eighth Annual Schnucks Folds of Honor "Round Up at the Register" Campaign Raises $150,000

Funds will provide 30 scholarships to families of military veterans and first responders

ST. LOUIS, July 11, 2025 - Schnuck Markets, Inc. announced today that Schnucks customers, vendors and the company itself pledged a gift of $150,000 to benefit the Folds of Honor Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides educational scholarships to the spouses and children of veterans and first responders who were killed or injured in the line of duty. The “Round Up at the Register” campaign, which ran May 14 – 27 at all Schnucks locations, enabled customers to round up their purchases to the nearest dollar to benefit the foundation.

One hundred percent of the funds will benefit Folds of Honor and will provide 30 educational scholarships.

“Our customers’ willingness to round up a few cents at a time makes a tremendous difference in the lives of the families of our military veterans and first responders, and I thank them for their continued generosity," said Schnucks Chairman and CEO Todd Schnuck. “I also thank the many Schnucks teammates who continue to live our company’s mission to nourish people’s lives while also ensuring the Folds of Honor ‘Round Up at the Register’ is an unmitigated success each and every year.”

Folds of Honor was established in 2007 after Major Dan Rooney, a U.S. Air Force fighter pilot, saw the grieving family of a fallen U.S. Army Corporal meeting their loved one’s flag-draped coffin on an airport tarmac. The 501(c)(3) has awarded nearly 62,000 scholarships to military and first responder spouses and children.

We’re so proud of the longstanding partnership with Schnucks, the Schnuck family and their teammates. Over the past eight years, their support has helped solidify the Missouri/Southern Illinois Chapter as one of the strongest in the Folds of Honor system,” said Doug Mitchell, President of the Board for Folds of Honor Missouri & Southern Illinois. “And we’re once again humbled by the generosity of the Schnucks customers. Their willingness to ‘Round Up At The Register’ for the families of fallen or injured military service members or first responders has resulted in 1,140 scholarships, equaling $5.7 million of educational impact in our area. A big salute to all those customers that have answered the call.”

Since 2018, the Schnucks Folds of Honor “Round Up at the Register” has raised $5.7 million - enough to support more than 1,100 scholarships.

Schnucks will present a check to Folds of Honor on the field at Busch Stadium prior to tonight’s (July 11) St. Louis Cardinals game.
