Tzimmes
A traditional Jewish dish, this Tzimmes recipe combines sweet root vegetables with dried fruits and warm spices, creating a hearty and comforting side dish perfect for Passover or any other special occasion.

Ingredients
- 1 cup Schnucks orange juice
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tbsp. pure maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp. Schnucks ground cinnamon
- 2 tbsp. Schnucks unsalted butter
- 2 lb. carrots, peeled & cut into half-inch rounds
- 6 dried apricots, chopped
- 4 large pitted dates, quartered
- 1 tbsp. chopped fresh mint, for garnish
- 1 tbsp. chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together orange juice, water, maple syrup and cinnamon. Season with salt and pepper, if desired.
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Stir in carrot, apricots and dates until coated. Stir in orange-juice mixture; cook until sauce is reduced by half and syrupy, 8–10 minutes. Serve immediately, garnished with mint and parsley.
