Smiley Apple-Turkey Melt
This sandwich is a sensory delight that makes for a lunchtime mood booster! From crunchy apples and creamy cheese to satisfying turkey and tangy mayo, it’s filling and fun to eat.

Ingredients
- 2 1/2 tbsp. Schnucks mayonnaise
- 4 slices Nature’s Own honey wheat bread
- 1 tbsp. Schnucks Dijon mustard
- 4 slices Dietz & Watson oven classic turkey breast
- 1 Granny Smith apple, thinly sliced
- 2 slices white cheddar cheese
- 4 carrots, halved (for eyes)
- 2 black olives, halved (for eyes)
- 2 apple slices, halved (for mouth)
Instructions
- Spread mayonnaise on both sides of all bread slices. Spread Dijon on tops of 2 slices. Layer mustarded sides with turkey, apple and cheese. Top with remaining bread slices.
- In a large pan over medium heat, lightly cook sandwiches, turning once, until golden brown, about 3 minutes per side. Top each with 2 carrot slices and halved olive for eyes, then with apple slice for mouth. These sandwiches keep fresh wrapped in foil in the fridge for 1–2 days. Reheat in a 400-degree air fryer for 3 minutes and add to lunch box.
