Monster Waffle Sammies
These playful waffle sandwiches make for a creative and customizable lunch. They combine whole grains, protein and healthy fats, which come together to provide steady energy for a day of learning.

Ingredients
- 2 Kodiak Buttermilk & Vanilla Power Waffles, toasted and cooled
- 2 slices salami (for tongue)
- 1 slice Schnucks low-moisture part-skim mozzarella cheese, cut into zig-zag (for teeth)
- 2 tbsp. Schnucks classic hummus (for eyes)
- 2 cucumbers, halved (for eyes)
- 2 olives, halved (for eyes)
Instructions
- On a waffle, arrange salami to stick out like a tongue and mozzarella teeth to peek out from edge. Top with remaining waffle.
- For eyes, dab hummus onto centers of cucumber slices, top with olive slices and arrange on waffle.
Chef Tip: Give these sandwiches a sweet twist! On a toasted waffle, spread 1 tbsp. almond butter and layer with banana slices. Top with remaining waffle. Add more banana slices and blueberries to create a fun bear face.
